Change in parish life is never easy. Merging, restructuring, or transitioning can bring uncertainty, grief, and resistance—but also the opportunity for renewal, growth, and deeper unity. New Wine, New Wineskins is a transformative faith-sharing experience designed to help parishes navigate this journey with faith, hope, and a spirit of community.

Grounded in a Catholic understanding of the Paschal Mystery—the dying and rising at the heart of our faith—this resource helps parishioners name their losses, honor their history, and embrace a new future together. Through prayer, reflection, and guided conversation, participants will discover how God is at work in the changes unfolding before them, allowing them to preserve what they cherish while stepping into a renewed, vibrant parish family.

Accompaniment

Small Christian Communities Participants form small faith-sharing groups (6-8 people) within their parish communities to meet often and discuss and reflect on various aspects of their faith journey.

Stewardship requires us to identify things that keep us from gratefully acknowledging God for all he has given us, putting those things in their proper places, and committing ourselves to lives in which service—to God, the Church, our neighbors, and the earth—is our priority.

What Pastors Are Saying

The ARISE experience has been an overwhelmingly positive experience for the community of Holy Trinity Parish. The number one impact was the effect of faith-sharing on the daily life of the participants. They were able to express things in a safe and caring environment and share in other people's religious journeys; these sessions truly helped all participants be more open to salvation in Christ.

The greatest outcome of ARISE at Holy Trinity was the renewed sense of community experienced in the Eucharist. During this time of confusion about the nature of the Blessed Sacrament, a growing awareness of the centrality of the Eucharist has emerged and it serves our parish well. ARISE is a great tool for evangelization and catechesis in the twenty-first century.

What Participants Are Saying

“ARISE has strengthened my faith through community, learning from others through our large groups, and also by reading the Bible more and just really interacting with God myself and building a personal relationship.”
