President and Executive Director

Greg brings to RENEW extensive experience in executive nonprofit, mission-driven leadership, including some 10 years in Catholic media at The Catholic Advocate and in higher education at Seton Hall University (both in the Archdiocese of Newark). Most recently, for eight years, he led international publishing and services operations for Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. Those assignments were preceded by a quarter century in creative and executive positions in New York-based trade book publishing, leading venerable brands such as Book-of-the-Month Club, Inc. and Random House to new levels of performance.

Collaborating with boards and colleagues has been a hallmark of Greg’s professional experience. In his faith life, he has been an active parishioner at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, South Orange, N.J. for more than 35 years. His wife participated in the spectacular music ministry for more than two decades, and his two children attended grammar school there, K-8, and both also attended Seton Hall Prep in West Orange; one graduated from Seton Hall University. Greg graduated from Yale University, earned his master’s degree in theology from Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, and received the John Paul II Medal for Academic Excellence in 2006.

As president and publisher of RENEW International, Greg Tobin is committed to sustaining and building upon the mission and legacy of this renowned private association of the faithful and striving to ensure its future in vibrant service to our Church in this Archdiocese and globally.
