Symposium on Parish Renewal
As part of its 40th anniversary observance this year, RENEW International will sponsor a major discussion of parish renewal, the focus of RENEW’s work for four decades.
The event, named after RENEW’s co-founders, is the Monsignors Thomas Kleissler and Thomas Ivory Symposium on Parish Renewal, to be held at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J., on April 19 from noon to 7 p.m.
RENEW, whose anniversary theme is “Forward at Forty,” is cosponsoring this event with America Media and the Center for Catholic Studies at Seton Hall.
The keynote speaker will be William Simon Jr., chairman and founder of Parish Catalyst and author of Great Catholic Parishes.
Moderator of the panel discussion will be Rev. Matthew Malone, SJ, president and editor-in-chief of America Media.
The panelists will be Leisa Anslinger, director of Catholic Life and Faith; Chris Lowney, author of Heroic Leadership: Everyone Leads; Rev. Bismarck Chau, pastor of St. Patrick’s Pro-Cathedral, Newark, N.J.; and Sister Terry Rickard, OP, president and executive director of RENEW International.
